Power Washing

Power washing, which is sometimes referred to as pressure washing, is a cleaning technique that uses high-pressure water spray to remove dirt, grime from surfaces. The water is heated by special elements.

Benefits of Power Washing

Some of the benefit of Power Washing include, firstly, the effectiveness of its cleaning. This method of cleaning is most highly guaranteed to  remove most stubborn stains and dirt that regular cleaning methods cannot. The water temperature could be cranked up to 250 degrees.

Secondly, Power Washing could be highly time saving. The heat and speed makes this possible.
Thirdly, it is very cost effective. This is because the process offers deep cleaning, thereby ensuring that elements and substances that would easily degrade the surfaces are removed.

Difference Between Power Washing and Pressure Washing

As it has already been mentioned, the main difference is that power washing uses high temperature while pressure washing relies on water at room temperature and pressure that sometimes could exceed 4500 psi

Equipment and Techniques

Because power washing uses water at very high temperatures, most of its accessories are made to be heart resistant.  For example, the surface cleaners, hoses and even nozzles all have specifications which specifies that they are more tolerant to high temperatures. In addition, this cleaning technique is powered by either gas or electric engines with Psi ranging from 1500 to 5000 psi. Also, the water flow rate varies and equally ranges between 2 gallons per minute (gpm) to 10.5 gallons per minute.

Cleaning Solutions

There is no exact specification as to what solution to use to breakdown dirt and grimes before cleaning. However, power Washing could be argued to use less solutions than Pressure Washing. The reason for this is very obvious. The choice of detergents and cleaning solutions depends on the person doing the cleaning; Detergents, soaps, and specialized solutions for specific surfaces and stains could all come into play.

Safety Guidelines

It is highly recommended to Wear protective gear: Gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
Also, Use proper footing and ladder safety when working at heights.
in addition, Keep children and pets away.
Another important thing to do is to test surfaces before applying high pressure or cleaning solutions.

Best Practices:

1. Start with a wide fan tip and gradually decrease the distance for more focused cleaning.
2.  Use the correct cleaning solution for the surface and stain.
3. Avoid using high pressure on delicate surfaces or at close range.
4.  Rinse thoroughly to remove all cleaning solution and debris.

Because of high temperature, extreme caution must be taken as to where to employ power washing in cleaning the exterior. Power Washing is most suited to concrete cleaning, especially greasy areas, like workshops,
